It's the Commodore-based V6 thats the worry, with the timing chain stretch and what not. the 1.8 turbo is a good engine (inline 4), no big issues, Alfa still uses it. Get the Ti version, forget other spec's. You want the better wheels lowered suspension etc.
The range was pared down to one 1750cc petrol unit and a pair of two-litre JTDm diesels of 136 and 170bhp power outputs. At the same time, a number of detail tweaks were instigated. (I live in Latvia, if that helps to understand the pricing of cars here). Then I saw the Alfa Romeo 159, 1.9D 2004-2006 and I fell in love with the exterior as well as the interior.

Diesel models keep the same time interval but bump up the mileage to every 96,000 km (60,000 miles). These recommended intervals are quite a bit different to what Alfa Romeo originally specified.
